Gel Polish on Hands

Gel Polish on Hands

Gel manicures resemble traditional manicures in that the nails are cut, filed, and shaped, and the cuticles are trimmed (if desired), but there is where the similarities end. Gel nail polish is applied similarly to traditional nail lacquer. However, ultraviolet (UV) or light-emitting diode (LED) light is used to cure the adhesive to secure it for long-lasting wear. Each coat of gel polish must be fixed for approximately 30 to 60 seconds. And rather than waiting for your nails to dry, you're prepared to leave the salon as soon as the final topcoat cures. According to Gibson Tuttle, gel manicures are also more resistant to chips and wear and strain. They also retain their gloss throughout the manicure.
